Multimedia Design
Course Description:
This program prepares individuals to apply knowledge and skills in the field of multimedia technology. Multimedia technology specialists provide services in a variety of areas associated with typography, web and graphic design, video, audio, television production, and photography. Instruction in this program includes, but is not limited to, audio/visual technology, troubleshooting techniques, computer operation and maintenance, data transmission and management, oral and written communication, math and physics, concept development, layout and design, computer graphics, image capture, audio, video, web related technologies.
Skills Learned:
Some of the skills a student will be able to perform are Art/Design, Desktop Publishing, Photography, Video Production, Cinematography, Digital/ Web Design and Advertising/Media.
Related Occupations and Earnings:
Related occupations include Art Director, Camera Operator, Film and Video Editor, Photographer, Graphic Designer, Audio and Visual Technician, Web Designer. Earnings range between $13-$45/hour.
Post-Secondary Opportunities:
Articulated credits can be earned toward an Associate’s Degree at Institutions such as Westmoreland Community College and Pittsburgh Technical College.
