Central Westmoreland Career and Technology Center (CWCTC) is seeking candidates for four openings available in late August/early September 2019.
For the instructor positions, we are seeking either experienced CTE Instructors or industry professionals to teach high school aged students; no teaching experience is required. We will assist the selected candidate(s) to obtain the proper clearances and permanent certification if necessary.
Automotive Technology Instructor:
Potential candidate qualifications include: a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a certified Automotive Mechanic/Technician within the last 10 years, be self-motivated, able to meet timelines, as well as good organization and communication skills. Specific qualifications include the ability to apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to plan, demonstrate, and deliver the curriculum associated with the NATEF / PDE Automotive Technology Program of Study. Experience within the education community is a plus.
Construction Trades Instructor:
Potential candidate qualifications include: a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Construction Trades field within the last 10 years, an intrinsic desire to work with high school students, as well as good organization and communication skills. Specific qualifications an individual needs to possess include: residential and commercial electrical, block and brick masonry, basic carpentry and framing, residential and commercial plumbing, and general contracting. Experience within the education community is a plus.
Robotics Engineering Instructor:
Potential candidate qualifications include: a minimum of four (4) years of experience in the Robotics Engineering and/or Electronics field within the last 10 years, an intrinsic desire to work with high school students, as well as good organization and communication skills. Specific qualifications an individual needs to possess include: Basic Electronics DC/AC Circuitry, Semiconductors, Analog & Digital Circuitry or Systems, Robotics and Soldering. Experience within the education community is a plus.

Paraprofessional (Protective Services):
General responsibilities include instructional remediation for all students in their assigned program(s) as well as administer first aid to the student body under the supervision of the school’s Certified School Nurse. For this unique Paraprofessional position, we are seeking an experienced EMT, Police Officer or Firefighter. Valid EMT License, EMT Instructor and/or experience working with high-school age students is preferred.
