Adult Classes

Adults in daytime training are enrolled in classes on a space available basis. They attend classes with high school students. Attending class from 8:20 a.m. until 2:35 p.m. each day will provide them with the opportunity to experience 1000 hours of training during the two semesters of the program. Adults may begin the competency based training program in August or January.

Basic reading and math skills, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to work are pre-requisites for success. If the student does not possess a high school diploma, it is advisable to enroll in a GED preparation course. Each student must attend on a regular basis. Excessive absenteeism may be cause for termination from the program.

All students are required to provide an Act 34 Criminal History Record Check and an Act 151 PA Child Abuse History Clearance prior to the start of training.

With each daytime training program, the student will have the opportunity to be equipped with tools for job seeking ( resume, letter of application, competency listing and letter of introduction, etc.). A certificate of completion is awarded upon successful completion of the training program. Students will be assisted with the job search process using the Team PA Careerlink.

The cost of tuition is $4400 for 1000 hours of training. Students will need uniforms, work boots, tools and safety glasses since the classroom laboratory and the training simulates the workplace.
